You have to hand a car dealer a lot about yourself — your phone number, where you work, sometimes your credit. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what we collect through this website, who sees it, and how to make us stop.

This summary is here to be readable, not to replace the detail below. Where the two differ, the full sections govern.
This policy is issued by Northwest Auto Broker, a licensed motor vehicle dealer at 1211 Central Ave N, Kent, WA 98032 ("we", "us", "our"). It applies to this website and to the information you send us through it — our contact form, financing form, sell-or-trade appraisal form and service request form — and to the phone calls, text messages and emails that follow from them.
It does not cover other companies' websites, even when we link to them. If you follow a link from here to a lender, a vehicle history report, a warranty administrator or a Google map, that company's own privacy policy governs what it does with your information, not ours.
Almost everything we hold about you is something you typed in and sent us on purpose. The forms on this site ask for the following:
Only your name, phone number and the consent tick are actually required. Everything else is optional — leaving a field blank just means we'll ask about it when we call.
If you go on to buy, sell or finance a vehicle with us, we will collect a good deal more in person — your driver's licence, address, insurance, employment and income, and payment details. That part of the transaction happens at the lot and on paper, and it is covered by the notices we give you at the time, including the financial privacy notice described in section 3.
Because we arrange vehicle financing, we are treated as a financial institution under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. That law gives your financial information extra protection and requires us to give you a separate written privacy notice describing how we handle it.
You will receive that separate notice when you start a credit application — not on this page. It is the document that governs your Social Security number, date of birth, income, employment history and credit report, and it explains the limited circumstances in which that information may be shared and how to limit some of that sharing.
If you would like to read it before you apply, ask us and we will hand you a copy.
The financing form on this website is deliberately kept short. It collects your name, contact details, a self-reported credit range and the vehicle you're interested in — nothing more. When you submit it, we start an application for you on our finance partner's secure system and send you a link to it. Your Social Security number, date of birth and income are entered there, on their encrypted application, and are transmitted directly to them.
When you authorise it, we or a lender will obtain a consumer report about you from a credit reporting agency. If credit is denied, or offered on terms less favourable than those you applied for, because of that report, federal law entitles you to a notice explaining why and telling you how to get a free copy of the report from the agency that supplied it.
This is a deliberately plain website. As of the date at the top of this page:
Two ordinary things still happen, as they do on any website:
Do Not Track. Because we do not track visitors in the first place, there is nothing here for a Do Not Track browser signal to switch off. We honour it by default.
We use what you send us to:
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you. A person reads every enquiry that comes through this site.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade or otherwise release it to unrelated companies so they can market their own products to you. We do not sell lead lists.
Being contacted by half a dozen strangers after filling in one form is a well-known problem in this industry, and we have chosen not to be part of it. The only companies that hear from us about you are the ones in the table above, and only so they can do the thing you asked for.
Every form on this site has a consent box you must tick before it will send. Ticking it means you agree we may contact you by phone, text message and email about that request, including with an automatic telephone dialling system or a prerecorded message where applicable.
Consent is never a condition of buying anything from us, and it is not a condition of getting financing or service. If you would rather not tick it, call the lot instead on (206) 474-6690 and we will help you exactly the same way.
Text messages. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any message to be removed, or HELP for help. We honour STOP requests promptly and permanently unless you later ask us to start again. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not share your mobile number, or your consent to be texted, with any third party for their own marketing.
Email. Marketing emails carry an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect for marketing straight away. We may still send you the emails needed to complete something you have already started — an appointment confirmation, a document to sign, a recall notice — because those are not advertising.
Phone calls. Ask us to stop calling and we will note it on your record. You may also add your number to the National Do Not Call Registry at donotcall.gov, though that does not by itself withdraw consent you have given us directly — tell us, and we'll stop.
This website is served over HTTPS, and everything you submit through it is encrypted in transit. Form submissions go into our customer management system rather than to an ordinary email inbox, and access to that system is limited to staff who need it. Credit application data is entered on our finance partner's encrypted application rather than passing through this website.
The paperwork side of the business is protected too — physical files are kept secured at the dealership, and we shred what we no longer need to keep.
We take this seriously, but no method of transmitting or storing information is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us your Social Security number, date of birth, bank details or a photograph of your driver's licence by ordinary email or text message — use the secure application, or bring it to the lot.
If you contact us and nothing comes of it, we keep your enquiry only as long as it is useful to follow up on — typically no more than a couple of years.
If you buy, sell, finance or service a vehicle with us, we keep the deal file for as long as Washington dealer licensing, tax, consumer protection and lending rules require, and long enough afterwards to handle warranty claims, title issues or a dispute. In practice that is several years, and some records must be kept longer.
When a record is no longer needed, we delete or destroy it.
You can ask us, at any time, to:
Ask by calling (206) 474-6690, by emailing nwabrokers@gmail.com, or by writing to the address in section 14. We will need to confirm who you are before we release or change anything, which usually means a short conversation and a piece of ID. There is no charge, and we aim to respond within 30 days.
Washington State does not currently have a general consumer data privacy statute of the kind California and some other states have, so the rights above are offered as a matter of our own policy rather than because a statute compels them. If you live in a state that does grant you statutory privacy rights and you believe they apply to us, say so when you write and we will honour them. Separate federal rights over your credit information are described in section 3 and in the financial privacy notice you receive with a credit application.
This website is meant for adults shopping for a vehicle. It is not directed at children, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and you must be at least 18 to enter into a vehicle purchase or finance contract. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy as the business, the law or this website changes. The effective date at the top of the page always tells you which version you are reading. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect — please check back occasionally. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Questions about this policy, or about anything we hold on you, go to a person at the dealership — not a call centre.
This privacy policy describes our practices for this website and the enquiries that come through it. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace the specific notices and disclosures you receive as part of a vehicle purchase, a finance contract or a service contract — those documents govern their own subject matter.
